This year’s CKSAP Ambassadors are students Julian, Elena, and faculty member Mrs. Powell. The trio have been excitedly preparing for the trip to Tokyo and Tamagawa Academy. They have been attending Japanese Language classes for several months and have mastered many of the basics of conversation. Last week we had a video conference with Tamagawa academy and had the chance to meet our host students Matthew and Natsumi as well as members of the Tamagawa teaching staff. It was a great kick off to what I’m sure will be a wonderful trip! Many thanks to Christina and her family for the opportunity to meet many of the current and future leaders of Japan.

On Saturday, Julian, Elena and Mrs. Powell spent the morning at a local Japanese School. This was a wonderful chance to acclimate ourselves to a Japanese speaking environment. The students warmly welcomed us and we enjoyed the classes, especially math! Afterwards, we met our families for lunch to discuss last minute details and then went to a local museum for a great exhibit–5 Friends from Japan!
