Before I visited Tamagawa Academy, (or Gakuen,) I thought that Tamagawa was a school with everything: the latest in technology, the latest in style, and the latest in everything. However, when I actually got to Tamagawa Academy, I was stunned beyond relief. I found out that Tamagawa does have the latest in everything.
The first surprise was that Tamagawa Academy is impeccably clean. The students clean up everything, and even change to clean shoes when they enter the school. Also, Tamagawa academy has up-to-date Macintosh computers installed in their computer labs and classrooms. Tamagawa also has a complete TV channel airing room, like A.B. Combs, but a bunch bigger.
On the first day, I met the whole class, and made many new friends. The schedule was as follows:
1st~Introduction Period
2′nd~Math
3′rd~Japanese
4′th~Health
5′th~Social Studies
6′th~Music
In conclusion, today was a very proactive day.
I am trying to compare in my mind, the students
cleaning the facility at Tamagawa and the students in our schools. It seems the students
in Tamagawa feel ownership of thier school and
the students here expect someone to clean for
them.
It is an amazing difference. Thanks for the info.
Christina,
What has the transportation been like compared to back home?
Mrs. Armstrong
Well, in Japan, you can get anywhere without having to know how to drive, with your feet and the trains. However, in the US, you NEED to know how to drive, or else you can’t go to a lot of places.
